There's a new movie coming out by the same group that produced Flywheel and Facing the Giants. Last night, Paul, his parents and I had the privilege of attending the premiere at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. But it wasn't just a premiere! It was the 60th anniversary of Truitt Cathy and his wife. Truitt Cathy is the founder of Chick-fil-A. If you don't know the history of Chick-fil-A, you need to! He built his business on Christian principles many years ago, and it is still run by those principles today. They put a huge amount of money back into the community, especially into at risk youth.
His sons, who now run the business, put on this premiere/party for their parents anniversary. They filled up the Fox with over 4000 people, at their expense, and treated us all to a wonderful evening. Before the movie, we attended a reception for the Cathys with delicious food. During the movie, they provided us all with drinks and popcorn, and before we left for the evening, we were given a gift bag of goodies. Inside the bag were 3 books relating to the movie, and nice tee shirt, a poster, magazines and various other odds and ends.
Now all this was very nice, but the best part of the night was watching the movie. It was excellent. It stars Kirk Cameron, who was there last night. This movie gives a clear message of the Gospel and sends the message that without Jesus, we cannot love like we are supposed to. It is the story of a marriage that is failing...and that is all I will say because I don't want to give it away! I was so impressed with Kirk Cameron. He spoke a bit after the movie and told us of a vow he made when he got married. He vowed to never kiss another woman, other than his wife. Now that's a no brainer for most of us, but you can see the conflict for a movie/tv star. He has turned down numerous roles because of his vow and wanted everyone to know, that even though there was a kissing scene in this movie, he didn't break his vow. They flew his wife in and she stood in for the lead actress. I was so relieved to hear that, because the kiss (while it fit the movie) didn't fit the message of the movie.
Make plans to go see it. You won't regret it.

I had viewed several extended scenes of this movie before viewing it at the Fox in Atlanta. I exceeded my expectations & that rarely happens in a movie, especially a Christian film.
All I can say is WOW & Praise the Lord!
Go see this film & take every couple you know that doesn't know Christ...the Gospel is clearly introduced

I watched the trailers on the Fireproof web site last night. I am excited to go see a movie that has a purpose. I am actually excited about spending the $ to see a movie while it is still in the theateres. I hope that the message from this makes a difference - if it helps heal 1 marriage then it will have been worth it in my opinion!
