Emma's 3rd Birthday

Emma had her third birthday on July 6.  We celebrated a few days early because her daddy would be traveling to Brazil on her actual birthday.
I can't believe my baby is 3.  She has turned into a little girl, with very little baby left.
She is usually happy and usually right in the middle of whatever is going on in our house.
And wherever her brothers are, you will find Emma.
She and Ben have a special relationship.  They love to play together and she idolizes Ben.  They also fight.  A lot. :)
But they can be very sweet together.
A strange picture, but it is the only one I had of Emma and I on her birthday.
I LOVED this little blue dress I found.  I had bought her a butterfly shirt and skirt, but at the last minute I found this dress.  So cute.

Emma has been talking about having a "butterfly" birthday for months.  Anna made her this beautiful butterfly cake.  She did a great job.  It was a lot of work!

 Blowing out the candles

Paul and I serving up the ice cream and cake.

 Mmmmmmm.
 Opening presents.
She received some very nice girly presents.
And was thrilled to have presents just for her.

On her actual birthday, Daddy was on his way to Brazil, so the kids and I took her out to dinner and then to see "The Croods".  We also had a little cupcake for her.  I think she enjoyed it.

She is a delightful little girl- usually!  She is 3, however, and has decided to test boundaries.  She is fast learning that the boundaries are still there.

She has added so much to our family and we are so glad to have her.

Happy Birthday little girl.  We love you so much!

Washing the Car

Ben sneaking around the car with the hose to get Dad.  Mission Accomplished!
Emma was not missing out on this fun!

The car actually did get clean!

Random Pics from June and July

Emma in her twirly red polka dot dress and red shoes.  When Grandma first gave her the shoes, she immediately dubbed them her running shoes.  I have no idea why, but she still calls them that.
She also gave herself a lovely haircut.  She the short hairs standing on the top of her head. Yep.
 Dad and the boys.
 Dad and the little kids.

Dad and baby girl and baby boy.
 Dad and Mom.
Emma looking patriotic in red white and blue.

Anna's beautiful cake she made for 4th of July.
She did such a great job.
We had a picnic at Sherry and Jere's.  It lasted about 3 minutes before we quickly moved everything inside to avoid the torrential rains.
After the inside picnic, we went to the Lee Greenwood concert.
Emma loved this patriotic guy.  She called him "the funny guy".

 Watching fireworks.

Paul and Courtney came for a visit.
Dad's sense of style is completely his own.

Ben being himself.
