Thursday

Today started out with a 3 1/2 hour trip to the lab for the 3 hour glucose tolerance test. Let me tell you, I am glad that is over with. That "glucola" is nasty and I will be glad to never have to drink it again. I won't know the results until my doctor's appointment next week.

This evening, Paul brought home our Christmas tree- a real one! The kids were thrilled and we were reminded why we bought an artificial tree. It took quite a bit of time, toothpicks and poker chips (don't ask) to get that tree standing sturdy. And even then it almost fell over while we were decorating it. We lost one ornament-one my sister in law made us when we moved from Florida. It was full of sand. Sand that got all over the floor, along with the glass from the ornament.

Sam enjoyed helping with the tree and put all his ornaments on one branch. We had the usual disagreement of the Yankees/Red Sox ornaments and which would hang higher. Paul Jr. even went so far as to suggest instead of the star that we put a Red Sox hat on the top of the tree. I told him to go ahead, but there would be no presents for him from me under the tree. He said it would be worth it. We'll see. As of now, there is a star on our tree. And as of now, the ornaments are hanging at an even height. We'll see how long that lasts. It seems at least one of them moves up higher each night.

I don't have a finished picture of the tree because it needs some TLC. Which is just a fancy way of saying that I need to go fix it- even out the ornaments, and make sure there are none dragging the ground. I was too tired tonight, so it will have to be tomorrow. I do have some pictures of it in progress.

How cute is that little boy in that chair??????
I lost my same ornament. I kept it hanging in my kitchen window year round the first year we were here. It broke some time that year. Maybe Julie could make us another one???????
I made the same type of ornaments for the kids 2 years ago after our big FL trip. Guess which ornament of mine broke this year? Let's just say I couldn't figure out why there was sand in with the ornaments!!!!!
