Sunday

We started this morning by attending the chapel here in Big Canoe. What a beautiful place it was! We weren't sure what to expect, but it was packed and the men's choir was great. It was a gorgeous building!
After church, Paul treated us to lunch at a local Italian place. The food was great and Sam especially loved the sausage on the pizza. He is back to his old self today, finally! He got to enjoy the last day of vacation.
All the food was great!

On the drive home, just a few houses up from our house, we saw these two deer, a fawn and a doe. There are so many deer here. We've seen quite a few fawns, right around our house.

After lunch, we headed out to the pool and the rockslide.

The pool and lake.
Ben fell off the front step yesterday and scraped up the side of his face. Just when the front of his face was almost all healed!
Sam wore these goggles the entire time he was swimming. He really did enjoy himself today, now that he is feeling better.

Later this evening, we rented a pontool boat and rode around the lake. It was beautiful. It was, however, hardly relaxing! This lake is extremely deep (90 feet in some areas) and with 2 little boys on the boat, it was hard to relax! Ben also got a little bored and wanted to hang over the sides and do lots of things he wasn't supposed to. But he calmed down and we did enjoy it.

Everyone helped to try to entertain Ben!

When we got home, it was time for smores. There's nothing that says vacation more than the smell of a campfire and the taste of smores. The little boys were so tired they went right to bed and missed the smores. But the rest of us enjoyed them, except for Paul. Paul is still sick. He did go on the boat ride, but that's the only thing he's done in the past few days. I guess he'll be going to the doctor tomorrow.

Sam got to enjoy the smores for just a little while before he had a meltdown that told us he needed to go to bed- now!Tomorrow, we'll get up, clean up and pack up and head for home. It's been a great vacation, but so very different. If we ever get the chance to do this again, we'd do a few things differently. We loved living in this house and using the ammenties for a week.
It's been great!
