Sunday

Our church service this morning was heavy. I don't mean that in a bad way, but Paul challenged us with some things that are heavy to think about. But it was good and needful. Our church was comfortably full and we had several visitors.

After church we had a young couple over, along with her mother. These people lost their 2 1/2 month old baby just a few weeks ago. Paul and I went to see them and several of the church family sent them cards. They had never been to our church, but live in our community and came to visit last Sunday and then we invited them over for lunch today.

After lunch, the mom of the baby spoke freely about her son and how she lost him. It was heartbreaking. This poor young girl has lived every mother's nightmare. How often have you gone in to check on your baby, to make sure he/she was still breathing? She did this and the unthinkable had happened- he wasn't breathing. She performed cpr until the ambulance arrived, but they couldn't bring him back. She showed us pictures of him- he was a beautiful baby.

My heart just ached for this young couple. It was obvious they were head over heels in love with their son, and now here they sit without him. Please keep them in your prayers this week.
