Making a Cake

Last Sunday night, Paul and the big kids went to the beach to go fishing/swimming. Sam couldn't go because of his foot and Ben couldn't go because no one wanted to watch him. Soooo, we decided to make a cake. Sam is showing you the recipe we used for mayonnaise cake. This recipe came from my Grandma and this recipe card is from my mom and is the one she used for many years. Mayo cake is very good and very moist and one of our favorites.

Ben wasn't sure what was going on, but it involved eating, so he figured it must be ok.
Poor Sam. His foot was still extremely sore at this point.
Ben mixing the flour and sugar. Once we turned the mixer on, he would have nothing to do with anything and buried his head in my shoulder. He has alot of fear issues.

But he enjoyed himself until then.

Even though there was only flour in the bowl at this point.

Sam showing Ben how to mix.

And Ben, being the good little brother, is duly impressed.

Unfortunately, the camera battery died and I couldn't take a picture of the finished cake or them eating it. But, it was good!
