Happy Birthday Zack
Today is Zack's 16th birthday. It is almost surreal to think that my "little" baby is now 16. We didn't have his party tonight because his gift didn't come in so we decided to wait a few days. We did, however, have nutty fagen and ice cream and play a game, which, I won. Yay. I love winning games, especially against my big boys because it's now so hard to do.
Here are a few favorite pics of Zack.

Benjamin's First Haircut
I gave Benjamin his first haircut tonight. I could kick myself for not taking a before picture, but here is one from a couple of nights ago. Notice the uneven hair on his forehead and the hair over his ears.He did really well! He did move a bit, so it's not the straightest cut, but he looks like a little boy.
It's hard to tell, but it's cut! His poor nose is all chapped and red from wiping it so much. He has a terrible cold, but he is back to himself, finally, after that bout with the stomach bug 2 weeks ago. His appetite has returned with a vengeance, and he played and played today, something he has not done since he was sick.

Christmas, 2008
It was a tree, packed with gifts. Samuel wasn't sure what was going on, but it didn't take him long to realize he liked it.
Opening his stocking with Dad.
Opening his stocking with Dad.
Baby Benjamin's first Christmas. He kept me up most of the night.
Ellie opening her new skirt and shirts. The girl does love clothes!
He finally got his "kid gun" that he has been asking for for a while. He hasn't put it down yet!
Opening up "The Annals of the World"- a huge world history book.
He discovered his bag of toys all by himself and enjoyed playing with them.
Irony
- We spend weeks, even months, preparing for Christmas morning, and it's over in an hour or so.
- The decorations looked so pretty for the past month; however, tomorrow, they will just look like clutter.
- Next week, it will seem like Christmas was months ago.
- It was around 70 here today- on Christmas. Benjamin never even wore a pair of socks all day long. Samuel wore shorts.
We had a great day and I hope you did too. Here's praying 2009 will be a wonderful year, full of great things and the peace of our Lord.

Ellie's Night
Last night was Ellie's night and that means we made gingerbread (graham cracker) houses. Somehow it has become a traditon for her to do this on her night, and everyone enjoys it. She gave us her gifts first, which were very nice. I loved my candle and Benjamin loved his new toy. Then, it was on to the houses! Everyone was working hard. Somehow, it has become a competition (doesn't everything), and some of us were intent on making the best/biggest/ highest house.
The agony of defeat! Her house had just collasped.
This one just wanted to lick the frosting!
Come on mom, just a little more? Please???
Anna's completed house. It was definately one of the tallest.
