Sam

Wednesday night at church Sam was sitting across the table from me. About halfway through the service, I happened to look across at him and noticed him writing intently. He would write a letter, then silently mouth a word to himself and figure out the next letter and then write it down. He did this for quite a while. His paper was so cute when he finished that I took it and saved it. "Sam". We're still working on getting the S the right way. I always find it amazing how children can write their letters perfectly backwards. Zack used to write whole sentences backwards.
A list of everyone in the family. I find it so cute how he spelled Emma Grace: "EMU GRS". He got it right phonetically.
"Mom", "Dad" and "Anna" were easy for him.

"Elle" and "Pol" were a bit harder. He is doing great in Kindergarten, sounding out simple words. He's very quick to understand concepts, much like Paul Jr. was. I love teaching Kindergarten- what fun Sam, Ben and I have each day.

Where did Emma go?

She slid herself under the couch and thought she was big stuff.
She is just about crawling.
And is very proud of it.

Emma Picture Overload/ Ben in Bath

Our New Furniture

I have been looking for some new furniture for our living room for several months now. We quit buying new several years ago because with small/big children in the house it just wasn't worth it. We bought a cute couch from Goodwill just about a year ago which was broke within a few months by one of my children. (cough, cough, PAUL JR). Finally, last week I found a couch and a loveseat that I liked. I'm not usually a floral person, but this couch had the perfect colors for our home. I told Paul about it and he went and looked at it and didn't like it. Ok. I can wait. He also thought it was priced a little high at Good will. So that night he looked around on the Internet and the more he looked, the more he realized it was a good price.
On Monday, he told me to go back and call him if it was still there. It was and had been marked down $25, so he bought the couch and loveseat for us! It's a bit worn and needs a good cleaning, but I love it! The more I look at it in my house, the more I like it!
Gotta love Goodwill!!

Sheba the Spoiled Guard Dog

We bought some new furniture this week, so our old furniture got put on the porch until we can haul it off. Sheba, our ferocious guard dog, decided she likes the blue recliner and has laid in it all day while "guarding" our house.
I don't think she'll like it when we take it away.

1001

This is my 1001st post.

Wow. That is crazy.

I started this blog on January 20th, 2007, a little over 4 years ago.

This is what my children looked like when I began this blog. Paul was 17, Zack was 14, Anna was 11, Ellie was 8 and Sam was almost 2.

My life has changed dramatically in some ways in the last four years.

But in some ways it's exactly the same.

I'm glad I began this blog to remember thoughts and feelings and events that I would have long forgotten by now.

So thank you for reading. I'm not even sure who reads my blog other than my mother and sister and my mother-in-law and sister-in-law and a few friends from church. It would be nice if you would leave me a comment and let me know you're a reader.

Here's to four more years!
