A few days ago Emma and I were shopping at Wal-Mart. They were handing out samples of ice cream bars. (Just a sidenote- they were AMAZING!) Anyway, Emma got the chocolate and I got the white chocolate.
Emma; "Mom. I got chocolate. What do you got?"
Me: "I have the white Emma."
Emma: "Mom. Say banilla. Say I have banilla."
I stand corrected.

I bought the kids some accessories for their Halloween costumes at the dollar store this morning. As I was taking them out of the packaging I said "Now, you have to be very careful with these because they are not well made and will break easily."
Ben replied, "Oh. You mean they're fragile?"
Again, I stand corrected. :)

Our Mini Fall Getaway- Part 1
We had Monday off from school; Paul wasn't on call for the funeral home; and we had no other obligations. So we decided that we would take a mini getaway to the North Georgia mountains for one night. The kids, especially Emma, were so excited! Our first stop was Jaemor Farms. They had all kinds of attractions and the kids (and adults) like looking at all the apples!
A HUGE pumpkin.
We arrived at the condo, unloaded the van and then Anna, Emma, Ben and I went for a walk. Ben couldn't resist rolling down this hill. Emma wouldn't even think of it.
Beautiful tree and grounds.
Feeding the horses.
Look at his face!
Stay tuned for the rest!

A A Apple
A few days ago we learned the letter A in my Kindergarten/Preschool class. (Ben and Emma!) Of course you can't learn the letter A without involving apples.
This was excitement! I had 7 different kind of apples for them to taste.
Mmmm. She liked them all.
Even the big 3rd grader got in on the action!
After we tried them all, I cut and peeled them and we put them on the stove to make applesauce.
Adding the cinnamon.
Mmmmmm! It was delicious!

The Turtle
This morning we had an unusual visitor to our front yard. We see lots of turtles, but usually they are down by the lake. I'm pretty sure we've never had one come up in our yard before.
These two were so curious about the turtle.
They were petting it. (I had to crop Emma out of most of these pics because she only had underwear on)
I love this picture of their chubby hands "petting" the turtle.
Seeing if his head was coming out.
She loved that turtle.

Noah's Ark
Last Saturday was beautiful. Anna and I decided to take the kids somewhere special. I had heard of Noah's Ark, an animal sanctuary about 40 minutes away, but we had never been. So we decided to go.
We had some excited kids!
They had a bunch of birds, parrots, macaws and many more varieties. I was very glad they were in big cages.
This big tiger paced back and forth, and back and forth. It was a bit disconcerting.
A monkey watching a monkey.
Such fun and excitement!
A gaggle of geese.
The grounds were beautiful.
And they even had a large playground.
The big tortoise,.
He got stuck behind these poles and tried to fit through several of them.
Emma and the "catgator". No idea why she calls it that.
CREEPY ostrich.
We had a blast and can't wait to go back.
