Antelope Island

We had a few hours to kill before we needed to be at the airport.  We decided to drive out to Antelope Island and see the Great Salt Lake.  It was like going back in time on this little island.
We saw this creature while we were driving across the causeway which cause great excitement for one of us.
 It was beautiful.

It should have been named Buffalo island, for everywhere you looked were buffalo.
We were at the visitors center, reading the signs and I caught a movement out of the corner of my eye.  Yep, just a little bit away from us were 5 big buffalo, just grazing contentedly.  I grabbed Paul's arm and whispered, "THEY ARE RIGHT HERE."  I didn't want to spook them; I needn't have worried.  They are so used to people.
Paul, of course, had to get as close as he dared.  Not really.  He probably would have gotten alot closer if I wasn't there telling him to get back.

We walked down to the lake, which went on as far as you could see.

Tracks from the buffalo in the sand.

 It was very prehistoric looking.

 A pronghorn.
We very much enjoyed this island and our entire time in Utah.  What an interesting different place.  We had a great time together exploring and seeing different sights.  We arrived home around 2am, and were up bright and early Monday morning to teach at CC.  But, it was worth it!
