Too much Cuteness...
Yesterday, I was getting after Samuel for something he did. I told him to come to me, which he did. He stood in front of me, eyes big, lip quivering and said,
"love you mama".
It worked. I melted and he got away with it.

I'm Back!
We're back from Junior Camp and I actually survived the week. It was not as bad as I envisioned it to be. It was rather enjoyable. Samuel had a blast, being able to play outside alot, and play with the little friends he met there. Paul did a great job preaching in chapel and the kids seemed to learn what he was teaching. The food was very good, and the people were very nice.
Here's a few pictures I snapped during the week:

What a day!
I woke up Ellie this morning, and the first thing I heard was, "Mom, my throat hurts". She had strep about a week and a half ago, and I just knew that's what this was. On a regular Sunday, this would have been no problem. But today, Paul, Sam, Anna, Ellie and I were leaving to spend the week at Junior Camp. We were all set to leave around 3. I wasn't sure what to do.
I got home from church around 1. I hadn't seen Zack since last night because he did not come to church with us. So I was not prepared when I saw him after church. His face was twice as bad as it was yesterday. I almost cried when I looked at him, and I knew I could not leave him.
Paul got home and I explained what was going on. He said I could stay, and we figured out that I should take Ellie to the doctor and then to camp, and then come home and make sure Zack was getting better. I didn't think the dr. could do anything more for Zack so he didn't come. I left for the dr. at 3 with Ellie, and after the dr. seeing her, diagnosing her with strep, getting her medicine and taking her to camp, I got home around 7. I had asked the dr. about Zack and he said I needed to bring him back in. So, around 7 it was back to the dr. He said it was a combination of a burn and contact dermititis and he put him on an antibiotic and steriods. After stopping for his meds and dinner, we got home around 8:30.
I am beat! I'm glad he gave him some more meds. He said his face should be almost cleared up by the end of the week. I've been to the doctor 6 times in the last week and a half, and 4 times since Thursday! I am planning on going up to camp with Sam in the morning, barring any more emergencies. I hope I don't see the inside of that dr's office for a year!

Bleach is Banned from my house!
We had a crisis at our house Thursday (my birthday). Zack had been pressure washing the front of the house, using bleach. He had finished, but had not put away all the bleach containers. Paul took me out for my birthday, and when we returned, he ran up to the church for a few minutes. I took Sam out on the porch with me. Sam played around with a few things while I sat on the porch swing. After a few minutes, Sam went behind the swing to push me, which he does quite often. I turned, and out of the corner of my eye, I saw him with a bleach container up to his mouth. Before I could get it from him, he has taken a swallow.
I went crazy. I always used to be calm in these types of situations, but no more. I screamed and grabbed him and went in the house. Sam was screaming and crying also. I don't know if he was scared or if the bleach burned in his mouth and throat or what. I ran right for the phone and the poison control number. Paul Jr. was reading the back of the bleach bottle, trying to figure out what to do. The man on the poison control said to give him milk. Sam does not like milk, so that was hard, but we managed to get a few sips down him. He promptly threw up. Alot.
To make a long story short, Paul came home and took over, of which I was very glad. Sam settled down, so we decided to take him into his doctor, which is open until 11. The doc said Sam would be fine, and that a mouthful of bleach will not hurt him. Was I ever relieved!
Then yesterday, Zack woke up with a red face. He had been the one doing the pressure washing, and apparently, some of the bleach got on his face. It wasn't too bad yesterday, but when he woke up this morning, his face was very puffy and very red. It looked just like a burn. So I took him to the doctor, and he has a first degree chemical burn on his face. We felt so bad. He has been in the shower most of the day, trying to get some relief. The doctor gave him silvadine cream and told him to take benedryl and motrin for the pain.
So that's been the excitement around here! No more bleach!

July 4th
We had a very nice fourth of July yesterday. My sister and her family had been here for a few days for a very enjoyable visit. We went out to lunch with them before they left. We then came home, cleaned the house and Paul threw some ribs on the smoker. Later on, we went over some friends house for a cook out. One of the best parts of the day was the weather. It had been horribly hot and humid here and that's what we had been expecting. But, the humidity was real low yesterday, and even though the temp was in the high 80's, there was a cool breeze blowing. I felt like it was a gift from God. We were able to sit outside comfortably and watch the kids play badmitton and eat watermelon. It was a perfect day. Good food, good friends and good weather!
